+ What are anti-wrinkle injections?

Anti-wrinkle injections are a safe and effective means of minimising the appearance of wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used on frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines to create a younger refreshed look.

Anti-wrinkle injections start working after around 1-5 days with the full affect by 14 days, and can last for 3 to 4 months. It can be used alone, or together with fillers and energy devices to help reduce both static and dynamic wrinkles.

Wrinkles are caused by too many contractions of your face muscles over many years. Anti-wrinkle injections reduce the strength of these muscles by suppressing the signals from the nerves to the muscles and preventing them from contracting an excessive amount and forming wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle injections are primarily recommended for the treatment of forehead lines, crows feet and frown lines. It can also be for:

Anti-wrinkle injections cannot be used in individuals who have allergy to the product, in areas where there is infection, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and individuals with medical conditions that lower their immune response or disorder such as myasthenia graves or Eaton Lambert syndrome.

+ What is the after care following anti-wrinkle injections?

Following anti-wrinkle injections please:

  • do not massage or rub the treated area for the next four hours
  • do not lie down for the next four hours
  • you may contract the muscles in the treated area as much as you like
  • other activities that may influence the uptake of anti-wrinkle injection into the treated muscles include vigourous physical activity and alcohol consumption.
